Team Sova Played Fulda Gap 2008 this last weekend and had a blast. After a rigorous fun filled weekend at Splatbrother WOTW III. SoVa made a road trip to Taylorsville NC the following weekend. for the 2008 MilSim classic Fulda Gap 2008.
I have to say the game was outstanding. Over 600 players a dozen tanks and some of the best teams the east coast has to offer. A fun filled, action packed, paint slinging time was had by all. The weather was almost perfect. The terrain was beautiful but very hilly and the competition was relentless.
I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys paintball. for the weekend Team SoVa camped at the field. There was a multitude of vendors, from food, to guns, gear, military surplus, everything under the sun even remotely related to paintball and some great bargains we there to be had and most all those attened came home with more than they left with.
The game was action packed from beginning to end. A paint slinging fest. Open fields, close quarters combat in Sim City, Forts, firebases and loads of wooded hills and valleys.
Team SoVa played the Warsaw pact side alongside of teams Boxer, Capitol Offense, Epic Unit, AFC, Krisis, Men of Valor and several others. Nato pact forces were all comparably fielded with teams such as BR Wolverines and many many more. Too many for this weiry mind to remember.
At the end of the weekend, Warsaw pact forces won the day. Myriads of prizes and give aways for most all who attended. But the most rewarding item given out for Team SoVa was the Most Valuable team award by the Warsaw Pact general that went to team SoVa. We were astounded and humbled to recieve this after fighting alongside of the prestigious and seasoned teams that were there for this event.

Yeah, the game looked interesting, but i really don't go for events that tell me what "kind" of gun to use. If I feel like bringing out the A5-A2 for some fun I will, but rarely will people "telling" me make me want to use it.
Congratulations on the award. Yous guys work hard every time I see you on the field, and Shoal is right. For never having played there and still getting the award, says a lot. Congratulations again.

Splatthat, Im not sure where you got, that they tell you what gun to use. Because I saw nearly every make and model of gun available to mankind on the field. SoVa itself fielded the following guns, Tippmanns, Spyders, Ego's, Eteks, DM's and even an Emag.

Nobody gave me a funny look for fielding my DM4 all weekend.....althought it WAS a HEAVY Mil-Sim event, and most everyone carried rifles or pistols.

The initial information that was posted on these forums a long while ago was that milsim markers would have been the only ones allowed. I am glad they changed it. Maybe I am thinking of a different game or park. I don't know. Either way. WOOT for SOVA!! EDIT: I went back and looked in the forums and did not find the game I was thinking about. Either it was so long ago, that it doesn't show up, or it is in my mind. *Shrugs, not the first time nor the last time I am, or will be wrong*

I know this is an old post guyz but, the Fulda Gap game has never had any weapons restrictions, other than rate of fire....but the milsim game that's played the Friday before the Fulda Gap game does. Ferg (the field owner) has packaged these events to make a full weekend out of it. But you can choose not to pay for or play in the Milsim game.

As I promised you last year, you will have members of the goon squad under your command. Feed them red meat and red bull. Call them terrible names and then let go of the leash. They'll be fine.
