Not to beat a dead horse, but here, pre-reg ends only two days before the event and because they are dye sub patches, they are a dime a dozen. This field regularly gets 500+ people for their one-day games and they don't even have camping....and the only time they had an issue with patches is when they forgot to put the order in....
I'll see if I can find out who makes their patches and get with R&D (if they are interested).

Hay Spud, As far as patches for the WotW III "Return of the Synth" game It was up to Ronn and Don to order the patches, and as far as cost, when ordering 300 or more it's .95 cents each with a 2 week lead time But would like 30 day lead time if you have camera ready art work, 4 to 6 weeks if the patch manufacturing company has to do the finish art work. The company that did the patches for DotI thought the artwork was great and wished that all his customers would supply the quality artwork that Ronn furnished. Big T's Alternative Reality Paintball Adventure Games had nothing to do with the ordering of patches other then finding the company to produce the patches and passing on the information to the R & D team.

My bad, sorry BigT, just relaying what I was told... Thanks for clearing it up... Again, I got to see what our local field gets and does. Like I said, they are only dye sub patches (not embroidary), but they are still patches, nevertheless, and I know the players love to show them off on their jerseys, banners, etc.

I have over 200 patches, The printed patches cost more most of the time then the embroidery patches and after 10 to 15 washes the ink washes off. This was the first 24 hour game that I didn't get a patch. Now lets look at the pre Reg. for that game 2 weeks out before the game I think we had 46 pre reg. The problem is the players wait till the last min. to reg. that makes it difficult to plan anything from how many hot dogs to microwave to how many cases of paint to order to how many player packets to make up. It takes about 3 to 4 min. per player packet to make up how many maps to make and so on and so fourth. it takes about 6 to 8 hours to make up 300 packets. Wayne's World of paintball, the father of this type of game ends his pre. reg. about 28 days before the game. this gives him enough time to get his proverbial stuff together. Patches are cool

Wow, I have run mine through the wash a LOT more than that and they still look like the day I got them. BTW, most all paintball jerseys are dye sublimated and they don't fade... Maybe it's just where and how they are done... Anyway, sorry for being a butt-head, it's just I know there were lots of grumbling about patches and I think it's a nice touch... No biggie...

I don't think you're being a butt head, I think you are being 100% reasonable and clearly spoken. The ID tags are great, especially when laminated, then tend to last a long time. They do not however replace the old patches. While I have no where near 200 I do own several and I like the way Mother did them. The main event series with rockers underneath for the game title, awards won, general, etc. It made for an easy out for her. Are they cheap, not really and I'll be honest, running games doesn't stay cheap IF you run everything legal. IE paying refs, insurance etc. Supplies for ID tags, the lanyards BeBop handed out with the ID tags, wrist bands, ink, paper, food for the staff etc. With the $15 SB's charge patches start pushing the limit of their costs. For their 26 hours games I say sure, but I'm not SB.

There are no patches given at the Classics games. 15 bones is a little light to be able to afford patches and mostly since the pre-reg ends just a few days before the game there is absolutely no way to get them made in time... Enjoy...

Same issue, The designs are set however the Tshirt printers are a bit picky on when they want their orders in so they can have time to order the correct number of shirts in the correct sizes and colors. It is a pain and the shirts cost about $6.00 a shirt to get printed before us larger boys get the plus sized shirts.

Splatbrothers Fans, Your attention please:
In an effort to help create fair an balanced Classics Series games, The Splatbrothers' House Band, Assault & Battery, will no longer be choosing a side before the game starts. In fact, we won't even be aware of what side we are playing for before we show up on game day.
Unless we are on the command staff, we will leave the placement of the team up to the Park Staff.
The impact of this on the team is that it limits our pregame involvement in planning and smack talk but we feel that more even and balanced games are in everyones best interest. As a result, we could smack talk BOTH sides and we may give more advice than actual game strategy planning but we think it will work out for the best.
We hope everyone understands our decision and the reasons for it. We enjoy playing both with and against all the fine teams who come out to Splatbrothers and hope this helps make for interesting games. Thank you.
