For the sake of the safety of the SplatBrothers® guests and to comply with our current insurance regulations:
Observers can no longer enter the playing fields during games. Only paid participants are allowed. This applies to camera people, family members, curiosity seekers, etc.
Paid participants may enter the playing fields as camera people. Camera people MUST wear blaze orange and have no clothing or equipment that designates them as a Referee or Staff person. (No referee jerseys or shirts from other places or parks are allowed either.)
Paid participants must pay the normal park admission and receive the Park's Safety presentation before entering the playing fields. Paid participants recognize, and admit, that being shot with paintballs or other paintball equipment while in a paintball park is a very real and probable possibility.

Perhaps a discounted price for dedicated camera people considering the admission price for this game...

This rule has been in effect for a few games now.
Ultimately, it's a case of a few bad apples spoiling it for everyone. Parents, friends, spouses were comign on the field to watch the game, take pictures, etc. A few times, players in the heat of battle mistook them for refs, requesting them to make a call, or simply yelled 'REF REF' at the people, wondering why they were being ignored. This is where we start hearing complaint about the ref staff not knowing the rules, not making a call, etc. As far as camera personel, many player complaints came that they were: 1) not getting out of the way, semi oblivios to players yelling for them to move. 2) Spotting people out by accident (just follow where that camera lense points, you'll find someone back there). 3) And my personal favorite, at least TWO people complaining to Ronn that they and their camera got shot up in the final battle.
So, to eleviate these issues, Ronn and Don put these rules out a while back, giving the run of the field to the people that truely deserve it that weekend...the paid players.

I wear an orange vest and take photos from time to time. Usually this confuses players and I get shot at MORE than when I'm toting my Angel.
The explanation I get is usually "I thought you were some kinda role player and worth points"
Yeah, sure.

I guess I still don't understand, it sound like as long as you PAY, you can still do everything you could do before, it just you have to PAY to take pictures, browse the field, etc... SO, unless I am TOTALLY missing something, this rule doesnn't allieviate anything other than that it establishes that a waiver has been filled out, safety briefing has been heard, and ......$$.
Sorry to sound like a spoiler, but I am just a bit confused (not that that's the first time)... hehehe
