Ok, so i am curious as to what types of pants people use, what works, what rips, and so on. So basically lets talk paintball pants! What works? What isn't worth paying more for (ex "extra padding" or squeegee pockets etc)? What brands would you recommend? What material would you recommend? Any special feature on pants that you LOVE? (joy stick does not count... ) Whats the biggest problem you've had with paintball pants. Curved Knee-padding vs straight? Anything else you can think of. (incase you couldn't guess i am considering buying a pair {cause my military ones are kinda hard to work with and move in at times})
~Lil Gimpy~UPDATE: Pants have been obtained n.n 9/1/09

Gimpy, I wear a pair of BDU pants. Got them in Black, Blue, Tan, Tiger Stripe, etc. Usually buy a pair a couple of sizes larger than needed, and also a few inches longer than needed. Have no problem wearing knee pads / shin guards underneath and they don't restrict my movement.
Cheap compared to some of the clothing designed specifically for the game. Tear em up, and toss em.

I use Dye C7 pants.
Pro's:
elastic in certain areas. helps for movement,
built in knee pads,
there is also a sort of "inner pant leg" that has elastic around the ankles. I see them as "anti-tick inner pants",
padded hips, for sliding/falling,
squeegee pockets,
Con's:
after sliding and washing multiple times, some of the threads come loose. then again, it could just be 240lbs sliding at 15mph across thorns and tree roots, maybe. I usually just trim the rogue fibers with scissors.
no back pockets,
mesh front pockets, good for ventilation bad for keys, pens, and anything small or narrow,
price, it is a Dye product so you'll almost die when you see the total $,
knee pads are not that thick. thicker than most, not as thick as I'de like.
they are a little tight around the hips. I am greatful of the aforementioned elastic.

Gimpy, I am going on my second year with my Invert 08 pants. They are beginning to show minimal wear and tear but for the most part holding up well. There are others at the field who wear Invert as well such as Ronn and members of VA Rush that i know of off the top of my head. With my pants i like the extra wide belt loops and i definitely enjoy the padded knees over conventional BDUs. The padded knees though took some getting use to as they hung low over my knees and the material chaffed me but now im either use to it or got them broken in and they no longer bother me. I dont rely on the sgueegie pockets any as a couple times i put a sgueegie there and they fell out. The zippered pockets are also nice for keeping personal belongings secured. I have no complaints about the material of my pants as they have held up well (its just the stitching that has the wear) and when left to hang dry after bieng washed they dry rather quickly. As far as sizing they are made to fit and adjust to a wide range but you have to do your research on the sizing as i consider myself a medium size person but i had to order a size small pants.

I wear Digi Camo pants as do my brother and his friends. I got mine a size larger and have no probs with them. I wear for alot of things tho not just paintball so mine are a bit more worn then most would be at this stage.

I was looking at one pair of Inverts - www.zephyrpaintball.com/product/PB-INVT-P09INVPREBLK/Invert_09_Prevail_Paintball_Pants__Black.htmlDo they have much leg space? like are they fit to the leg or baggy? (being little gimpy i have to wear knee braces. JOY) Also looking at www.armysurplusworld.com/product.asp?ProductID=14873 and www.lapolicegear.com/moctaemtdana.html

Gimpy, if you currently wear a brace under your BDU pants then there will be plenty of room under the Invert pants. During the winter i have comfortably worn two pair of thermal pants along with a pair of fleece sleeping pants. To add i would consider the current pricew for a pair of 08 Inverts quite fair and i am not the least bit disappointed in them. I cannot vouch for the new 09 Prevail series but they dont look too impressive. I do not see any reinforced stitching on the knees like i have in mine and i consider that to be the part that is subjected to the most wear. If you want to go with Invert and cannot find a decent 08 pair i would spend the few extra dollars and get the Limited pair.

I loved my BDU`s as well..... Until I ripped them.... two hours into the game.

Trapper and Kouza, just so she doesn't have to post this and since I'm already on, she already owns a pair of BDU pants and shes retiring them because they don't fit (Sorry babe to bring out the truth!)

*smothers pickle* thanks babe... but yea. the surplus store around here only sells up to L and since trapper intends to barrel tag my butt i am sure he is aware of its dimensions (not to mention the pants i have are cut for a man and obviously I am not one). PLus i have the whole knee brace issue so baggy would be good.

You can still get '06 JT team pants for in the mid twenties. Black goes with anything, they are tough, ample padding, look good, CHEAP.

Invert pants cant be beat for the price they hold up very well and the construction is excellent but thay are very lightweight praticularly in the knee padding. I also own 08 Planet eclipse pants which can be found for around eighty dollars and they are well padded and constructed with a kevlar weave in the knees which works great while kneeling behind a bunker, you wont feel the rocks grinding in. They are also nicley vented in the leg and are comfortable on hot days and the waist can be adjusted with velco straps.
