" Operation Starlite:: Viet Nam
August 18, 1965. The US Marines attack the 1st Viet Cong Regiment base at Van Tuong. Operation Starlite is to be the first major action fought by only US forces and the first time US Marines will combine helicopter assault and amphibious landings.
The Marines will make an amphibious landing trying to drive the Viet Cong units across the battle zone towards other Marines units who are to be air-lifted by helicopter west of Van Tuong. Secrecy is paramount and no South Vietnamese ally is informed of the impending operation.
The Marines must take the hamlet at Nam Yen, Hill 30, and the base at Van Tuong. The Viet Cong are determined to hold their ground and engage in surprise attacks that keep the Marines’ armored supply columns at bay.
2 Marines will earn the Medal of Honor for their heroics this day, but will it be in vain?"

Thanks Traffic! However, the Commanding Officiers for this event are already signed up... but the curtain of secrecy will remain in place for a little longer...
