Operation Cobra:: Allied Break OutThe Allies have made progress in Normandy, but the invasion has begun to lag.
It is General Bradley’s Operation Cobra that finally breaks the hedgerow country stalemate once and for all. The Cobra offensive leads to the long-awaited breakout from the bocage.
The assault begins on July 25 with a massive air bombardment west of Saint-Lô that the Americans hope will decimate the German front line. This is followed by a concentrated attack that initially meets with little success as American veterans of the hedgerow battle find it difficult to overcome the caution they have learned in two months of bocage fighting.
The German opposition is not organized in depth; having trouble getting reinforcements they can only form a very tough but discontinuous crust against the onslaught.
The Germans have their backs against a wall; they know they must keep the Americans stalemated in France. The Americans hope to break out of the Normandy beachhead at last, in the battle of movement they have longed for, toward the Seine - and Paris.Click here to pre-register. www.splatbrothers.com/cobra.htmSave on paintballs! Gentleman I beg to differ with you on the chrono... I know that they were doing it on the PARC as several came back out to rechrono... We were short some refs but safety is ALWAYS paramount at SplatBrothers®... Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

At Chosin it seemed there were several refs with had helds walking the field. At Okinawa, there seemed to be a little less, but they were out there. I know someone called a chrono check on me and a ref came running it to do it (yes I was legal). It also seemed to me that there were fewer hot shooters at Okinawa and fewer people screaming about a hot shooter. At Chosin the weather/humidy spiked quickly in the afternoon. At Okinawa it seemed a constant level of warm, so there should have been less issues of velocity changing during the day.

Being at the CP all day, I can atest to the fact that random chrono checks were called ALL day long... Safety, priority one for the Splatbrothers....
