Ducky...for one this is most certainly NOT junk! The War Between the States was arguably the most influential period for this nation, barring MAYBE the Revolutionary War.
Gettysburg is maybe a 90 minute drive from where you live. Google it genious.
Robert E Lee was one of the finest military commanders this nation has ever seen. There is a reason he fought AGAINST the union and still has his own national holiday.
You have access to the internet and a teacher-there is no reason for you to be making comments this perposterous. C'mon dude-bad form.

i got it from my teacher and asked questions about it. i do take US history this year ;D
i didnt think it was possible but if you actually look at it there were a few battles in the north. PAST DC! so Lee didnt go for the capitol why? because he didnt want to conquer a nation. he wanted a nation for the south. a reason to secede no?

:oPlease don't tell me you're ludicrous enough to say that Gen Robert E Lee was a poor leader. Maybe he is referring to this <--- General Lee? LOL I hope not, the battle hasn't even happened yet... This time around.

i got it from my teacher and asked questions about it. i do take US history this year ;D i didnt think it was possible but if you actually look at it there were a few battles in the north. PAST DC! so Lee didnt go for the capitol why? because he didnt want to conquer a nation. he wanted a nation for the south. a reason to secede no? To be historically correct, Lee did not approve of the break in the union and was very torn on what to do. Gov. John Letcher of Va and Lee's fellow Virginias are who persuaded Lee that what was important was protecting Virginia's sovereignty. Exerpt from Lee Biography: Above all others he was the choice of General Scott for the command of the United States army; and the aged hero seems to have earnestly urged the supreme command upon him. Francis P. Blair also invited him to a conference and said, "I come to you on the part of President Lincoln to ask whether any inducement that he can offer will prevail on you to take command of the Union army." To this alluring offer Lee at once replied courteously but candidly that though "opposed to secession and deprecating war he would take no part in the invasion of the Southern States."When it became apparent to Lee that Virginia would be the center of conflict, Lee was then influenced to lead the Army of the South, which he did to help protect Virginia. Initially his area of resonsibility was very small and it wasnt until the wounding of Gen J E Johnston and the illness of Gen G W Smith that Lee was appointed to the position Commander Army of Northern Va As far as Gettysburg, Lee was against going into the North. This was Jeff Davis' idea and the purpose behind that was not to conquor it was to create enough discomfort in the north to cause people to stop backing the war which was already an issue due to the length of the war to date. Quote from Lee on April 25 1861: "No earthly act would give me so much pleasure as to restore peace to my country, but I fear it is now out of the power of man, and in God alone must be our trust. I think our policy should be purely on the defensive, to resist aggression and allow time to allay the passions and permit reason to resume her sway." So In answer to your question: Robert E Lee did not want to invade the North and Lee did not want a second nation in the south. Nor did he have issue with anything other than his home state being a battleground www.civilwarhome.com/leebio.htm

Nice Read, I know least about the Revolutionary war and Civil war cause they don't interest me much But this the game is making it more interesting, far as I know the Fitts Family fought on both sides but their were/are 2 separate Fitts Family or at least they claim their not kin, I don't know their reasons for fighting in the war I'm more then sure most of them (like a lot of other people at that time) didn't want to fight but I know I'd Defend my home so I imagine most of them had the same Idea.
