I found that the ION is a good purchase for an electric gun(splatbrothers has one for $169 ?) , googles...spend a little extra on a pair that has a good fog resistant rating(Profiler by Vforce) $80. My son and I both have the Pod packs from NXE, very comfortable. Most importantly, it's all about how much you want to spend and having the money to do so.

ovoid heavy things like the plague
Get a mask that is Fog Resistant
If you plan to wear a vest, Get a remote coil and put the tank on your back. it will save you a few pounds on the gun. Heavy guns are no fun running around in that battle field of a park
As for guns. try not getting anything over 5 pounds. The BT TM7 is unfortunitly for you 400 dollers but from what i have seen it is well worth it. As well it only whieghs about 2 pounds so it feels like you are carrying air

I found remotes to be annoying when I play front player, it seemed to get into my way when I had to slide into cover.

Brotha balla, like Ox said, it's all personal preference. You might choose to a heavier gun as a trade off for it's accuracy, etc. No matter, a good set of Goggles is MOST important. Again, agree with Ox...Profilers, the Dye I3's of I4's, E-Vents, etc. Make sure your lens' are thermal so they won't fog.
I have to offer the Dangerous Powers G3 gun as the best gun on the market for the price!! Of course many will have other opinions, too. Disagreeing with Ox, take it from experience...STAY AWAY FROM AN EPIPHANY. If you must buy Smart Parts gun, get an ION XE or skip up to the EOS. Still believe the G3 is far better and you can't beat the price and up-grade-ability!!! Good Luck, Brother.

Check out the trading post on the forum it's got some great deals, like a g3 and e-vents mask are in the trading post for 280. The g3 is a great gun for that price and the e-vents is a good mask to.
