First, I want to say THANK YOU to all the players who turned out for a cold and wet, but excellent game.
Big thanks go out to Samantha and Autumn of the snack shack who kept me supplied with gatorade and coffee ... my home team, the bunch of goons of Assault and Battery who delivered an entire gallon of Dunkin Donuts coffee to "The Hole" and fed me a delicious dinner Saturday night. William the Ultimate Referee, and all the referee staff of SplatBrothers for hustling their butts off all weekend and keeping the game running smoothly. You guys are some of the best trained and knowledgeable referees found on any field.
And Finally Ronn and Donn for allowing me the "Autistic" (Yes, I spelled it as I intentioned it) freedom to run the game.
For the story line:
The base premise of the game was that in the 1950's, "Giant Robots Invade Planet Earth" and fought a war between themselves. They didn't even recognize that there were "Carbon Based" life forms present until long after their war ended. Then the losing OVERLORD Computer found the Carbon Based life forms and forced them to re-enact all the historic battles in our history.
Eventually, the OVERLORD Computer trained the lowly carbon based lifeforms to perform more useful tasks and developed a way for it to leave the planet and continue it's primary program of fighting wars.
During the course of the game, there were five large computer drives that had to be found and assembled in a 10' tall computer mainframe. Each drive however was also associated with a "Guardian" robot. The role players had a primary job of figuring out the puzzle of the game. This was finally accomplished around 10:30 am Sunday ...
Then the role players found out that yes, the OVERLORD Computer was departing Earth, and turning the everyday administration of the carbon based lifeforms over to either the "Heroes" or the "Villains". BUT, it was leaving the computer server and the guardian robots to maintain control of its Carbon based lifeforms that it had trained.
I hope that everyone had a great time. I had a good time writing the story line, the back story and developing props.
It was great to see all the home teams together, along with my friends from out of state, Pub Crawling, Tyrell Corporation, Dead by Dawn, Team Solstice, Team Boxer, BeBop, RATS, and everyone else that I can't remember right now as my mind is still muddled and shook up from having an EMP Bomb go off inside my computer case ...
Love Ya'll Mean IT ... and hopefully will get a chance to see a bunch of ya'll on the field next year ...
