I have an Old school tippmann 98 custom and I want to buy a Red dot sight for it. The sight I want has a Dovetail mount. What kind of rail is on the old tippmann? This is NOT the Platinum. Thanks.

The Tippmann you have has a dovetail rail on it so the scope should fit

Just wanted to add that if youre looking to put a red dot on your Tippmann make sure it is a quality one. If you decide to buy something like those cheap Daisy ones you find at Walmart that has the battery compartment on the front expect to lose the battery and the battery door the first hit it takes to the front of it.

I find that scopes on the paintball markers are kind of pointless. My mask hits the gun before my eye lines up D:.

Well, it's not really a scope. It's basicly just some fancy sights that are easier to use. If I get it I'll show it to you at onslaught.

Dom, that red dot sight is constructed much like the Daisy one with the battery compartment on the front of the sight. From personal experience a good shot to the scope and you will lose the battery and the battery door leaving you to search the ground (through the leaves and dirt) trying to find where those pieces fell.

Hmmmmmm. Alright. You have any ideas for a better one? I'm low-budget though.

The main problem is that with paintball price most often is directly proportional to quality. You buy anything cheap for paintball then you should expect cheap quality. I dont know what kind of budget you have set aside for a scope but a more quality yet affordable one will be about 30 to 40 dollars. The only problem with those kind of scopes is that you will need a picatinny/ weaver rail. To help oint you in the right direction though some sites with a good selection of scopes are: uscav.com, specialopspaintball.com, opsgear.com and rap4.com
