Hey guys, Last weekend was my first time playing and i must say its pretty addictive. So now I need a gun and everything else that goes along with it. I have no idea whats the best out there. For someone starting off that is. I'm kind of broke so I wanted to keep it under 200 for the gun itself. I also would like to put in since I am a girl I'm looking for something pretty, lol... I was told tippman was good but i didn't see anything that caught my eye.. So far the only ones I have seen that caught my eye were the Diablo Mongoose, and the WGP Trilogy. I dont really know what I'm looking at though so any help would be Greatly Appreciative. *update* Thanks guys Saturday I will be the new Proud owner of a ION!

Pixie, For the price that you have stated, I would recomend an ION. You upgrade do quite a few upgrades on these. I would also try looking on the trading post for what people are selling. Good luck on your quest for looking for a marker. I would also recommend that you go to Splatbrothers and talk to them about what you want. I guarantee that they'll be able to help yu out.
Welcome to the great game of paintball.

Trixie...Coastie is right the Ion is amazing...I use one religously now. Also Smart Parts just put out the next step of the Ion. It is called the Epiphany. It is a little bit more expensive than the Ion but it is sexy. I think that it will be my next gun. You might want to look into that gun though. You can find the info for it at: www.smartparts.comHope you find what you are looking for. And also like he said!!!! WELCOME TO PAINTBALL!!! Alright Pixie..........Welcome to the game.
Ion is a great gun. Don't listen to those who would tell you otherwise. It's cheap, capable, and very upgradable. Treat it well and it will do the same for you. Good luck and go get'em girl.

first thing that you should get is a locking feed neck...it will make your life a WHOLE lot easier when you get a nice hopper on the top of that thing...Don can help you with that...then I would say that you should think about getting a nice hopper for it...then you can go through and start messing with the internals and everything to make it shoot faster and not have to worry about if you are going to load fast enough.

Great choice pixie. I would have to say, the first upgrade (it's really an add-on) would be a clippard QEV. They're only about $15 and it will add efficiency and reduce the possibility of grease and gunk from getting to the solenoid. The next upgrade should be some sort of On/Off ASA (I prefer the CP product). This lets you fill your HPA tank while still attached to the marker. You just unscrew the On/Off knob and you're set. After that, it's all personal preference. I for one think the stock trigger sucks. It's a bit too wobbley for my taste. Go with what you like. Then comes a new barrel, then a new bolt, then (after a loooonnngg while) you might want a new reg. The only thing I wouldn't suggest getting (unless you want to get heavily involved in speedball) is a new board (circuit board). A lot of people will suggest it, but personally I don't know if it's worth it. Most scenarios (and tourneys) won't let you ramp beyond 15bps and most only allow semi-auto. The stock board will give you all of that. And I doubt your fingers will shoot over the 17bps cap that the board has to offer in semi-auto mode. Again, personally speaking (and I will likely get flamed for this statement), I think a new board would be too tempting for one to cheat. They are easily put in different modes that are not allowed in tourney's and scenarios.
Anyways, that's my $.02. Take it for what it's worth. And believe me, it ain't worth much....
