Ahhh Blood Moon, what a blast. Howling at the moon. The first game I remember where we actually forced the entire enemy army off the field of play.

I personnaly just miss the pre-battle brief that we got. Most were pretty darn funny, and gave us an idea of what was going to happen. but back then, all the teams came down for the brief. This is not making a lot of sense, this is one of the best fields on the East coast, and definitely one of, if not the best in Virginia. Lot's of fun rivalries were had, and many more friendships made. We as players need to get the "operators" of SB back on track to bring this place back to prominence.

Meh, It is hard to want to want to participate in the games when, the people at the field dont want to.

My understanding is Our favorite teams, some good friends and those who made SB the fun, friendly environment it had been for years will not be at Domination. BeBop was going to be missing this event no matter what due to the game being moved to a week earlier than it was normally scheduled. One of our own knowing when the game was typically scheduled, scheduled his wedding for the week prior to the historical date of the game. Thus we are missing this year. It saddens me to see that R&D are no longer in charge of the field and posting the events on the forum and spreading the word. They knew how to hype us up and get us excited about a game. Two weeks prior to an event and their are 14 total posts in the entire game thread with no announcement still on who the generals will be. It seems the SplatBrothers we know and love is no longer functioning in the way that made it great. 7 members active in the last 24 hours, so very sad. I remember days when it was 31 active and 15 online, with Kouza, Voodoo, Traffic, Corndog and I switching between multiple personalities on the forum just to make a post and smack talk between role player characters for weeks prior to a game. I miss the old staff. Sorry to hear that some of the teams will not make it to the event. I cant speak for the conversation and smack talk. I have made the posts about the game and I leave it to the players to control the banter. I can tell you that nobody has contacted me about serving as a general for the Domination game. I am still in need of two general. (I have been contacted by a few players but nobody had committed to me.) I am very aware that some teams have jumped ship due to reasons that I am simply not involved with. However, What I can speak on is the quality of the Game that is being prepared. I am working daily with the Splatbrothers staff to create a dynamic and exciting playing experience for all players and teams that plan on attending the event. The game play and the event will be different, to say the least, when compared to last years game. I have been tasked with providing a completely new playing experience for this game and I have been very busy preparing just that. Lots of props, missions and role playing will be inserted into the game design. I have had the pleasure of running the last two R.A.W. games at SB and everyone in attendance has really enjoyed the game design that I have provided. Thanks for your feedback.

Now hold on Mav and Goblin! There are plenty of great stories to be told. In fact my pal Jet and I have several already done and ready to go. Just a matter of finding someone who wants to host the event. Games like " Dragon Weather" , "Elementals- Forces of Nature", and a Trek inspired game. 'sigh' ..........heh! Anybody remember "Rock Vs Grundge", or "Angels Vs Demons", "fast Food Wars","Rise of the Force Dead", "Narnia" , "Blood Moon" ? I really enjoyed fast food wars, the fact that there were three teams with the third being able to play for either side if the price was right. I wish I had started playing earlier and been able to play Blood Moon I have heard some great stories about it. Maybe something will work out.

Agreed ,Jet! Not to mention the "game recycling" and lack of prize support for the games. I'm starving for good game play and now the one and only field worth going to in the area is ,...well..... lets just leave it at that. No game recycling here. I have written numerous games over the past 2 years. The game design for this one will be original I have brainstormed with numerous players about what they want to see in the game itself. I have spent countless hours and drawn from my experience and from the experience of those around to create this game. The feedback had been received and since your hungry...the dinner bell has rung...Come and get it!!

Sorry but without R&D I seriously doubt I will be willing to give any funding to an unknown entity. I too have run many events and I know, learned early from true masters in the paintball industry YOU as the game producer must at times chase down generals, beg and plead with someone who knows the game and the field and when numbers are crappy have the charisma to recruit the teams and players that are needed to make the event successful and fun. You as the game producer need to spend hours going to a variety of forums and send emails recruiting teams and players. You need to advertise the game in any way you can. So far as Game recycling, you say you're not doing it? Really, how many Dominations have their been? Its October, make it something NEW and exciting, Enough of the freakin war scenario that never freakin ends. So far as Role Playing, how can there be role playing when you don't have players registered to play, as you admitted for a 24 hour event you don't even have generals yet, you have the waivers from the last three years unless Bobby Weeks deleted al the electronic waivers, that gave you literally hundreds of players to chose from. If you have been running games surely you have some friends or team captains you have met and befriended you could have called. If nothing else take a feather from Don's cap, post the game on all the team forums, most of us have at least one person who adds it to his signature or it's in his profile. lastly, for today at least, Ronn and Don, the relationships they cultivated, the friends they made and the love of the game they poured into the field made Splatbrothers, SplatBrothers. You may have had nothing to do with their leaving, but you're stepping into some very big shoes and so far you are falling a bit short.

Ok, so far we have managed to pile on the new Management at the park with no suggestions on what to do to help. Now it is time for us Players to put up or shut up. Change is inevitable, we see it everywhere. How you adapt to that change, shows the level of character you contain. While I agree, and understand Team Bebop's reason for not being there, my congrats in advance, other teams that have decided not to show for lesser reasons are part of the problem. Better advertising and/or incentives may help this. Additionally, the debacle with the video did little to help the situation. In the future, stick to what you guys do best, put on first class scenarios and entertain the players. Don't cater to teams coming in to the park just because they have a big name, as the Death Dealers and ATA have shown, a small group working together, can overcome sheer numbers. I look forward to coming to SB for Domination, I get to see many old friends and make many new memories. Let's get all the teams together and work on returning this place to it's prominance.

Ahh but Sloemoe, the video was the fault of THIS management, as is the lack of prize support and player support. This was not Ronn and Don who took away the prizes, increased the fees, took away the rewards for Generals, XOs and role players, and I gave plenty of suggestions for fixing the problem. my final solution, have the current management go do what they are best at, supplying fields with gear and paint, selling players good gear at good prices, keep in mind, this same CURRENT management has supplied the paint, good and bad for the last several years. Bring back the boys who still own a portion of this company, the boys who know how to run a game and make people feel welcome, the boys who made the field what it was.

I understand a bit more now, there are a lot of things flying around right now. First and foremost for me is making it to Domination. I hope to come out of this weekend healthy enough to play the following weekend. If not, it's back to photo taking for a while. The paint was real bad for a while, it destroyed a good weekend many a time. Nothing like spending half the field time cleaning out heavily dimpled paint from hoppers. My goal is to get the players back on the fields, I don't care what field they are on. But once they come out, they will feel the urge to play, and if the games are fair, prices are good, and word gets out early and often, they will come. My first 24hr scenario here was Spring of 2010. My son played, I took pictures. It was a blast. Let's get back to that point.

Jet, Thanks for the input. All of the things that you have stated have merit. I understand your position.
I am not going to try to explain away all of your points. You have an opinion and your not afraid to voice it. Keep it up. I like players like you. You actually help the sport with your experience and presence.
I will point out to everyone who reads this forum that the title may be "recycled" however the GAME PLAY itself will unique. I was not able to choose the title of the game. However, I can tell you that I have complete control over the props, missions, and role player activities. I have a really fun game planned and I am really excited to see how it all plays out.

And just to make this clear, pbpark (again not under his control) but this isn't the only game that has been hashed and rehashed. And yes that does fall on my friend Ronn.

At any rate, I look forward to being there in 10 days or so. I have not called Rob yet, I just have not had time. I hope it's not too late. It has been a while since I last played at SB, not because of the things going on there, but because I have been busy this Summer and late Spring. SB is the place I came back on the field at after many years of recovery from a knee injury. Your Staff has always been fair to me, allowing me to go on the field and take pictures. I have even volunteered for Big Game Squad to say thanks. It is a game of give and take, we as players need to understand that the demands we make are sometimes not economically possible. And management needs to listen and be attentive to the needs of the players. First and foremost we need to bring back the fun! As some of the players age, we need to capture the youth, get them off the streets, show them the team building aspects of paintball. I am not a marketing guru, but I know a target audience is being missed when we don't contact local ROTC groups and offer weekend team building scenarios. SplatBrothers would also be a good location for an ROTC Raider event, which would bring in hundreds of kids and their parents. Catch me at Domination, we can talk about it. These are ideas that may or may not have been tried before, but I just don't want to see a good thing go away.
