SplatBrothers has always had exemplary safety standards in all the previous games that I participated in, up until this past event. We brought 3 probationary players with us to the field, and explained that Splat is very Safety Oriented and that was one of the things we appreciated about the field. So imagine my surprise when I approached the Red entry gate and there were no Refs to check player cards for Safety Brief/Chrono Check or the existence of a player card at all. As I was in the lot a few times during the day, I noted repairs and maintenance being done on markers, but nobody to recheck them before they reentered the field. For safety reasons, I had all my probies recheck their markers before they reentered after the lunch break. It just comes down to safety again, we keep the kids safe, they come back. We give the parents and experienced players peace of mind, and they come back.

I agree with the above, That was an awesome safety rule. That being said it was a bit silly back when it was going too. I know I had one of my players required to shoot 8 times (even though its a shoot once and go) before. Each time under the Chrono, and I once had to shoot half a mag of ammo off a Tiberius (Which is basically 25% of the air of the marker) because the Ref wanted to double check, and when I made the extraordinary spike from 180 to 220 he made a panic and thought I might jump over 280...
Basically my only call is bring it back but, obey the ruling on it... My tiberius does not take well to emptying the mag at the gate. (I typically go through one C02 Cartradge a game just shooting my tiberius over the chronograph)

I fully agree. When I worked the Big Game Squad for Hellstorm II, I did my best to not let anyone shoot prior to getting into the chrono hood, because as we all know, many of those higher end markers that have tendency to spool up will shoot low on the second shot. I caught a lot of crap from a certain guest team when I asked them to stop, they would all, to a member, pull off the barrel sleeve and fire 3-4 shots into the air towards the field, then shoot a 283 on the chrono. I felt uneasy about that the whole time. As I knew they were shooting hot, but nobody cared. I just want a return to fair, fun, and safe paintball. It can happen, and we all can be part of it's return.
