What if during a game we run 3 teams, of course we have the red and blue but the extra team could be sort of a mercenary team.
This merc team will of course be proportional to the to the other teams of 1/3, for example, 6r + 6b=12players on an official side, 4 players are mercenaries. (A+B = C || (C/3)) (or divided by whatever other number)
This mercenary team is an unofficial team, meaning they cannot rack up points HOWEVER! the mercenary team members can decide later in the game to join either the red or blue side for one match or the whole event, (splatbrothers staff choice) all mercs who has joined a red or blue side will have red/blue respective tape around their goggles as normal players would.
**note: changing sides from merc blue to merc red on the fly is strictly prohibited, the mercs must wait till the end of a noted event if they wish to change.
The mercenary's (again, splatbrothers staff choice) can or cannot move certain objectives a certain distance to keep single objectives ((package, mail etc.)) out of the hands of red and blue teams.
**note they must remain an unsided mercenary in order to move an objective.
The main point of the merc team is to either get some help when needed for another event OR to just shake things up and harrass both teams.
since mercs cant rack up points they can also be in game objectives, as in capture a merc w/ some intel. If the merc is still alive you get bonus points, if he is tagged out, he/she drops the "intel" and it is free to be picked up by another mercenary or the respective red and blue team.
this is kind of a rough outline of my idea but hopefully it will be given some consideration.
