I have so many thank you's I have to say, so this post will be long.
First and foremost, I want to thank all the players that came out to support my debut as a General.
My Young Gunz, Joey Peele, for wearing the General band and keeping me alive so many times when he really just wanted to go shoot stuff. He actually covered himself with leaves and dirt because I told him to "hide real good" and I can't thank him enough.
Assault & Battery, my MVT. You guys never cease to amaze me. You
gave everything you had to support me, even Sickboy's tent! You were everywhere on the field, and truly showed what a force you guys are. I had several blue players ask me who the fat guys were that kept killing everybody! And your young gun was tremendous! Give that kid a LAW rocket more often...Chowda, thanks for all the pregame advice, and Sickboy as well. You two definitely did alot to make it easier for me. And as a team, you preformed tremendously holding the Center Tower in the Opening Battle. And I know I had fun rolling with you guys for Final Battle!
OMM, the guys who won a sportsman award as a team! Your presence on the field was great as always. You did your all to make sure everyone had a fun game, and I heard several stories involving you which both sides got a laugh out of (like Spud running for his life from a young gun with a LAWS rocket). Spud, you truly were invaluable during the pre-game planning phase. You helped me moderate the forum, with strategy, and advice. And I can't forget you letting me run up your phone bill!
Anarchy, my favorite team (by default lol). You guys made me proud yesterday. I know it was a tough game, and confusing at times, but you really played your collective butts off. Traffic, you were a huge help in the CP, and I thank you. Deva, I'm sorry you hurt yourself, but I cannot tell you how proud I was that you didn't let the sprained ankle take you out of the game. Dusty, sorry about what happened (I wont go into it) and I hope you feel better. Sorry about your HK Army shirt.
OFU, you raggedy bunch of college kids! You guys had a great showing on Saturday. Despite your co-captain Shrub being the reason I got no sleep Friday night (we wont go into that lol) I can't say anythign bad about you guys. You did EVERYTHING that was asked of you, and never once hesitated, even when the odds against you sucked. You all showed tremendous heart, and gave me everything you had. Thats all I could ask for as a General. And Corndog, my venerable sheep loving XO! You are as a good a friend as you are a paintballer, and thank you for all the help you gave me. And thanks for the 5am peptalk!
MERCS, all I can say is...I love you guys! You are poster children for the HK Army mindset, and I truly fear the day I have to play against you! You guys were everywhere at once, and your Conduct at Final Battle was amazing! Syn, your show of sportsmanship at near the end of the day was awesome. And Red Devil, you truly earned that MVP! I think you shot everyone at least once, and you showed what great play is really about!
Psych Ward, you crazy crazy men. I'm not exactly sure about your sanity, but I am sure you are a force to be reckoned with! Your conduct on the field makes you earn your name, but its also why you are so darn good! Love you guys, can't wait to play with you again!
DC Terror, you guys were great. Braving the DC traffic on a weekend morning to get down here on time was an accomplishment in itself! And you guys did whatever you could for the overall effort. All day Phill was coming up and asking what I wanted, and never hesitated or complained about my answer. I really hope I can roll with you guys at VOTD.
Spryebane, driving all the way from Maryland to play for the Germans! You guys kicked butt all day, especially in the opening battle! You were an example on the field all day, and people did not hesitate to follow you anywhere (I guess its the whole Braveheart thing, I donno!)
MadRussian, and MaybeBetter. You guys proved again that you really are the best medics on the field. I have seen several really awesome medics, but in my opinion, you two are the benchmark. Your campsite was also hella fun, thanks for the Hobo Pies1 (or as I call the, Redneck Pizzones!)
Mars, you really had your stuff together, and I commend you. You never lost sportsmanship, and you were a great guy on and off the field! You are a great General, and I thank you for a great game. I really hope we get to roll together at Wayne's World like we talked about. You were a great General, and I congratulate you on your much deserved win. All the members of the American side played a great game, and your victory was well earned.
Any players who's names I forgot or never got a chance to learn in all the fighting, I am sorry. All of you deserve a mention, all of you played your hearts out. The German army as a whole played an awesome game, and I couldn't be prouder. Thanks again for making my first time as a General a memorable experience!
The refs, especially the base ref for putting up with my crap, thanks again. You guys made sure this game was sportsmanlike, and kept us crazy goofs in line. You have thankless jobs, so here is a big thank you!
Ronn and Don, you guys always know how to put on a great game! Your field is the bomb, and I can't wait till VOTD and the December game. I'm dying to see what you have in store for us next season as well.
Thanks again, to everybody that showed up and made the last RAW game something to remember!
