At a recent scenario game, I had some gear taken from my open vehicle. Fortunately I got most of it back, and strong evidence from multiple witnesses led to the individual being banned from the venue (not Splat Bros.). But I did lose a fairly new CP 48/45 tank. Coincidentally, a tank just like it showed up on Craigslist the next day - but I have no way of proving it was mine.
A LOT of paint was also stolen that day.
So, before I play again, I will take the following precautions: - All my gear will be marked in some way - All my bags of paint will be marked with bright marker or similar - I will NOT be stupid and leave gear exposed, unattended, and easily reached
Fwiw, I have a solid probable cause for felony B&E against the individual in question. The only reasons I don't drop the hammer are the time & effort required for my witnesses, LE, and court staff to prosecute a relatively trivial case and the fact the [expletive] has been banned from further play.
Enjoy the weekend, guys. Hope to see you soon.

It sucks when stuff like that happens. At least you got some of your stuff back.

At Hellstorm last year I had a 48/4000 Pure Energy Low Pressure Fixed tank stolen from my bag while at the closing ceremonies, so may I encourage everyone to heed Gray's advice. My recommendation get a gear bag and use a padlock on the zippers and a cable/bike lock to your vehicle. Also rubbermaid/plano tool trunks aren't that expensive and have been a solution for Jeep Wrangler owners for years. At the very least put your equipment in a locked vehicle when you leave it.

It really sucks to know that people would be that low, to steal things from fellow paintballers that go to the same field they know and love.
