I know team SoVa had a blast and its always fun win or lose but it sure was nice to get a W. Anarchy, you guys are great. For one reason or another, we seem to always hook up and you guys are a pleasure to play along side of. I also had a demo guy from the black knights on me or with the team the whole time as requested, don't remember your name but thanks for all the help.

I think what brought the allies down the most was the fact we had 5-6 teams while Germans had 7-8, off the top of my head. The teams were even but we lacked the more experienced people who knew how to fight as a squad. personally my team got too split up because of mechanical issues at the beginning and because of staggered respawn times, if we had been more cohesive then i think we could've done a lot more for allies i would like to thank all the other teams out there with Tango Down who time and time again gave me and my squadmates covering fire, information, and help in general. Also, to BUFF-N-STUFF who led a team under fire the whole day, ya got balls dude. Actually, the americans team had about 10-11 teams pre reg'd. I only had 7. The big difference was in two areas IMHO was: 1. Since the prereg number PLAYERS was equal, since I had fewer teams, I had more people on those teams. Organized teams that have been around a while know how each other plays and trys to compliment each others playing style. 2. I believe I had more players at the bird banger and we just set the pace of the game early (which was not what my game plan centered around initially) so as yet another old saying goes "I got there the fastest with the mostest"

Dang, but I really hate it when work gets in the way of Paintball.
I called in around 5:00 pm on my way back from Louisville Kentucky, just before getting into the West Virginia mountains. Final battle was still underway, and when Donn gave me the registration numbers, I about ran off the road.
Awesome game guys, wish I was able to have attended.

Mushroom, congrats on the win! From everything I saw and heard, you had an excellent handle on everything. Great team work to everyone on the German side.
I know I was worried about the teams based on how the game was going. I could see the frustration in the American forces having to walk up and down that hill to insert and leave. Kudos to them for having the heart and desire to keep playing!
I've mentioned this before in other conversations but I'll say this again; IMO the single largest factor that teams ignore when touting themselves is their on-field presence and stamina. Basically, how much time will they be physically on the field contributing. That is where I saw the American team having issues where as the German teams seems to be on the field constantly, in strength, throughout the day.
If Team A rolls in with 20 players but after an hour of playing their total on field presence is reduced to 5 players at any given time, they really are not the force they think they are.
While the Americans were struggling to hold ground around their CP later in the day, I went off field for air and paint to find that two of their largest teams were having a 20+man photo-shoot in the parking lot. That seriously hurts a teams overall efforts.

I agree. I don't think it had anything to do with the teams I think it all had to do with the location of our CP. We had no cover around it and it was crazy we had to walk down that hill to insert everytime. How in the world do you take control of the spools when you have to start where our CP was? The location of the CP demoralized our team and a number of people stopped coming back into play because of it. 125 ft away from the CP where it was only forced the enemy back to the top of the hill at the spools right at the ridge line shooting down into our CP area where we had no cover. Had CP been placed at the top of the hill at the spools we would have stood a chance

As having played both R.A.W. games from the same CP (The TOWERS CP) I can honestly say this... The location of the CP's is evenly balanced.
Now many of you just went, "HUH?!?!.. No they're NOT!!! This guy doesn't know what he's talking about."
Just give me a second of your time and hear me out.
During Inchon, the Koreans backed us into a corner as they took control of Trenches, Cheeseburger, and Held the area behind trenches. I left that game thinking, "Man... these CP locations are NOT fair!!! I would've much rather been at the CP 1/2 way down the hill at spools."
During Market Garden, I got to see "The Other side of things", as the Germans backed the Americans into the corner by controlling, Spools, POW, and Castle. I heard many people saying, "Man... These CP locations are NOT fair!!! I would've much rather been at the tower CP."
So, there is both sides of the "The CP's aren't Fair" Argument, from someone who has been both on the GIVING and RECEIVING end of a good WHOOPIN' operating out of one particular CP.
It doesn't matter Which CP you're assigned to, and it doesn't matter WHERE the CP is located... If you can't take and hold enough ground to allow your forces freedom of movement... it will be an uphill battle the rest of the day.

That seriously hurts a teams overall efforts. Actually we struggled for the first hour with paint and marker issues, the killerbeez was turning into margaritas in out cyclones, we had to exchange/sell paint to get the lower grade stuff. Don was too busy with the 200+ walk ons to deal with that so we hit the field over an hour after the game started. We waited until 15 minutes before stand down to do our "photoshoot" because we were saving the last 500 rounds we had for the final fight. We played hard all day, most of us missed the last insertion because of reairing and hydrating.

First off, hats off to Mushroom and the Germans for a great game/win. While the Americans were struggling to hold ground around their CP later in the day, I went off field for air and paint to find that two of their largest teams were having a 20+man photo-shoot in the parking lot. That seriously hurts a teams overall efforts. We were taking our team photos during what was scheduled by event staff to be the break before the last big battle. We have to take photos at each event to send to our sponsors to show that we're representing them appropriately. By the info we were told, there should have been no one still playing during the time we were doing our team photo. We had a bunch of guys come off the field about 20 minutes before the break who opted not to re-insert again as they were low on paint. As Cyclops said, we had to make sure we had enough paint to play in the big battle. Maybe someone saw our guys during this time and assumed we were just sitting around, but by that time we were almost out of paint and guys were giving one another paint just to keep them in the game. Most of our guys went down to about a half a case each due to the paint issues we had early on. Paint issues took out most of our team (TSSOC) for about 1/3 of the game. I know our team had 9 members go down with cyclone breaks alone while chronoing at the beginning of the day due to brittle paint. That doesn't even take into account all the others who just had barrel breaks. I think we maybe had about 4 cases of paint that weren't bad. So we spent the first half of the day trying to get those issues solved. We had to wait to speak with the Splatbrothers head-ups about our issues, but unfortunately they were tied up most of the day with registration. We ended up sharing the "good" paint we had until Splatbrothers was able to take care of us, but that still kept us off the field for a good while. When all was said and done, Splatbrothers helped us resolve our paint issues, but most of us ended up with half the paint we expected to have at the beginning of the day. I took the field earlier than most of our guys and I didn't even get out there till almost an hour or so into the game. Luckily I had my TAC 8 with me and just borrowed a few rounds to try and help out. When I got to the field we only had about 5-6 guys out there and we were surrounded. I was told by the Allied General that he only had 25 people upon initial insertion. I'm not making excuses here or anything, but I just want to make people aware of what was going on and why we weren't on the field. We just don't want our name tarnished because of false assumptions instead of people knowing what we were dealing with.

No foul, guys. Everyone understands the paint/cyclone issue that prevailed at "Garden". There were ALOT of guys from many many teams who were tied up either in the reg. line, or at the chrono station at the bird banger. TSSOC has a standing reputation as a stand up group of hard gunners....and everyone knows that the sponsors MUST be kept happy FIRST. Im sure no one questions the integrety that we have all come to know TSSOC for. You guys played a great game, as is the norm for your group

My apologies guys on the example as I didn't know the whole back story. It was merely an observation from a point in time. I've played along side both teams in the past and know they play hard, upstanding games.
The example does illustrate how the absence of key teams can impact the accomplishments of the larger team effort. In this case, circumstances beyond the control of the players prevented a large contingent of them from being able to participate in the game.

I just wanted to clear up the misunderstanding. I could easily see how that could be misconceived and I figured I'd clear things up a bit.

Whew, this is precisely why OMM doesn't pursue sponsorships... Not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just that without sponsorships, we can do and play whenever we want and can put OMM and paintball FIRST!!! But then again, you all get to have ALL the cool toys ... [stepping down from pedestal ]
