Yote, thanks for the post. That's basically what I was saying too. At both of my local fields, we use them ALL the time. That's what prompted me to suggest it to Slinky when he generalled. I venture to guess, that's also what gave Corndog the idea. If some people want to make ANOTHER rule regarding megaphones, I still suggest, one per side, not considered a prop, and if anyone uses it to make a ref call / prompt someone to call themselves out, then it gets confiscated for that side for the remainder of the game, end of story. And yes, you CAN use it to psych out the OPFOR, i.e., "we got you surrounded, give it up" (that's about as close to GREY as you get). Now I suppose some on OMM or A&B might stick it up to their backside and make other noises through it as well, but that might render it useless for the rest of the game.

I wouldn't use it ever again if you did that...banned or not banned.

Guys, I wasn't on the field at all during Hellstorm except for 10 minutes at the final battle.
If the players don't have a problem with it, if the field's head referee doesn't have a problem, and the Coyote, "Worlds Ultimate Referee" doesn't have a problem, then I don't see where there will be any change to the GSRP regarding it.
There might be an allowance made in the GSRP for equal distribution of such a device to both teams ... sort of how we try to split the use of a single tank between teams when one is available. I don't know. Having played a number of truly HUGE games, a megaphone for the command staff is a benefit when a general is trying to organize 2000+ people into squads, mission teams, base defense, etc.
The intent of the GSRP though is to have a firm basis and a set of rules for a majority of the silly things we do in scenario ... how does a demolitions expert, medic, engineer, piolt, work, what can he/she do, not do. Most of the time, the GSRP is reactive to events. Similar to what happened and how the rules got tightened considerably following a PVC pressure tank failure at the field.
Barrel tagging people with a paintball marker barrel and a sharpie was fun, but then it got out of hand with everyone trying to do it, hence the major scenario directors closed that loop hole / gray area, and strengthened the wording. Also, there were some really HOT tempers on the field following several events.
Regretfully though, it is a fact of life, but ONE player with a megaphone in his/her hand, not following common sense, being abusive about its use, disrupting referee calls, etc., can and will screw the pooch for everyone else. So even if nothing changes over the next few CLASSIC games, there WILL be something ready to roll for the one player that cannot control himself / herself, fails to use some common sense and ruins it for everyone else.
